DKP is primarily earned by killing raid bosses in raid instances with 25 players. As a result, DKP is only used in instances for 25 players.

Start/End DKP
If you have signed as "Signed Up" for a raid and you show up, on time and join the raid group when invites are going out, you are eligible for receiving "Start DKP". This is a reward for comitting to a raid and rewards 1 DKP.

If you received start DKP and are still in the raid when "Raid End" is announced, you are also eligible for "End DKP". This will reward 1 DKP.

Start/End DKP was taken in use as of 25/06/2008. This does not apply to previous raids.

How much is a boss worth?
We no longer award per-boss DKP.

Per raid an amount of 9 DKP is awarded to all participating and standby players.

What about Trash-drops?
Loot dropped from trash-mobs in 25-man instances will not yield a DKP reward. These items are considered a bonus and thus will only cost DKP. The price of these items is calculated in the same way as boss-loot (see below).

How much does an item of loot cost
An item's DKP price will be calculated in the following way:

(ItemLevelLoot - 200)

Example: Kel'Thuzad drops items of itemlevel 226. His loot is worth 26 DKP.

If a pattern drops, we use the following rule:
  • The BoP Patterns/Plans that produce BoE items will be free to the crafter. Going to /roll crafter.
  • The BoE Patterns/Plans that produce BoP items will cost half the DKP of the item they produce, to account for the added expense of the mats.

What about quest-items in 25-mans?
These items can usually be turned in for loot, for example a ring. To determine the price, we will take the itemlevel of the reward and use it in the general formula we use to determine prices.

DKP Penalties
If you fail to show up for a raid to which you have signed up, there will be a DKP penalty, unless ofcourse you have a reasonable explanation.

  • Not showing up for a signed-up raid: -5 DKP
  • Breaking CC: -10 DKP

These rules are subject to change. These rules were last reviewed on Wednesday 29th of July 2009. If you have any questions about these rules, don't hesitate to contact an officer in-game, or make a post in the Raiding-section of the forums. If you have remarks, tips and/or suggestions for the DKP-rules, please do the same.

Updated to the system we've been using for a while now.

(No more per-boss DKP but a flat amount of DKP per raid)
